The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a robot vacuum and mop that is middle-of-the-road. It has a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features that are found in its more expensive sibling.
In tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. However, unlike other models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to map out your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is built into the base of charging. The robot will learn your habits of cleaning, and recommend automatic schedules to give you the ultimate hands-free cleaning experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is in place it can begin automated cleaning with a single button click. You can opt for an overall clean that focuses on the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice or two thorough mappings of your area to ensure your entire home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum is effective on both floors that are bare and low-pile carpet. It can remove pet hair and clean large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpets, but iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it hug the furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. We think it's a nice statement but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as create virtual boundaries, so it can recognize areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine vacuuming and mopping and mopping, the Roborock Q revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. The mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub floors more efficiently than a vibrating pad.
The only issue is that it lacks an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable cost to pay if want one of the best robots available. The dust tank of the robo-vac is larger than its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.
As for the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less abrasive than the high-powered ones, produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. If it comes across a wall or piece of furniture, it gently bumps into it and moves forward.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and will automatically move trash into a hidden bin. It also washes and dries, as well as refills the clean water tank. The app is capable of notifying you when something is in need of attention, for example, the clean water tank running low or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create and combine actual rooms to customize how the Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is helpful if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or when you have to frequently clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my tests, picking up debris on carpets and hardwood floors with the first pass. It can even clean up spills that are wet however I would recommend cleaning them off using a clean cloth before bringing the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you can wish for. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpet and hard floors, plus a rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with an auto-cleaning station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet in height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has a faster charging speed for batteries and can handle a full cleaning of about 1,500 square feet on one charge. And it has a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris, making it easier to empty when required.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that can be used even when you're not at home. It also has a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a set path.
The Omni X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads that rotate to clean tough stains away and a motor that produces sweep and mop robot plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to seven days. The mopping feature of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of convenience features that you aren't likely to find on robots at this price. It can create precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great however they can push the L10s into the luxury category. This could mean it's more expensive than homeowners need.
It is designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an enormous bumper that shields the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find a single button that essentially serves as the on/off switch. Clicking this will turn on the vacuum, and clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and return it to its base station. The central control panel is the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons will open the settings of the app which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This helps the robot mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for households with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance which clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and removing all but the most stubborn juice stain. Its mops are also quite efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris that was found on our wood, tile and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as effective in removing sand from the hard floor and quaker oats on the carpet.
